Winter Wellies

Rain boots: $59.99  Purchased from Winners
Label: Hunter
I bought these rain boots from Winners two seasons ago, and I haven't regretted it since! Being an avid fan of rain boots, I have already worn through several pairs in my lifetime. Thankfully Hunter rain boots have a "seamless waterproof shell" that should prevent any cracking of the rubber from my daily wears and tears. These boots normally retail between $149-$200, so I definitely got a sweet deal on them! I had a choice between purchasing a pink or neon green pair, but I weighed my options and figured that if I were to ever go for a walk on a dark and rainy night, this colour would attract the attention of any vehicle on the road!

Dress: $49.99  Purchased from H&M
First of all, I would like to be the first to comment that this dress shrunk 2 inches too short in the dryer! Fine...more like 5 inches. I guess I should have washed this garment BEFORE I hemmed it, but its too late for that now :(  I guess I'll just have to pair it with some stockings from now on...and a tan wouldn't hurt either...Lol

Cardigan: $14.99  Purchased from Urban Behavior
This sweater is essentially a knock-off of the classic Wilfred Cardigan from Aritizia, only it is 10x cheaper! I like the sheerness of this sweater. It is perfect for those summer nights when you want to layer a light sweater over shorts and a tank top. Moreover, it takes up very little room in your purse, and it weighs zero to nothing!

Necklace: $ Free!  Purchased from Exposure
This large peacock feather necklace was given to me for my recent birthday  by my friend Esther. She originally told me that if I did not like the necklace she will not be offended, but I assured her that I did. And not only that, I featured it on my blog! I adore the bright colours of this statement piece, and it really highlights the colour of my boots.

Purse: $29.99  Purchased from Winners
Label: Airoldi Couture
I purchased this bag for my sister many years ago, and then proceeded to steal it from her. I wear this bag all the time. In fact, I've worn this bag so often that I've teared up the inside, and had to have a friend patch it up for me. Unfortunately her mending job only last a few months, and now I am back to wearing a broken bag that I refuse to throw away!

Mix and Match

Blouse: $4.99  Purchased from Value Village
Label: Blue Ruby
The daisy pattern of this black and turquoise blouse was what initially drew me to this top. I love colours that POP! I also like the uniqueness of the collar, which I identify with as a mini tie.

Beret: $9.99  Purchased from Sears
Label: Jessica
I originally bought this hat for my boyfriends mom, but decided to "borrow" it after the cold weather set in. I don't typically wear a lot of animal print clothing (despite my 'Cougar Town' blog), but I really like the understated leopard design of this beret. It also keeps my head nice and cozy in this below O degree weather.

Skirt: $6.99  Purchased from Value Village
Label: Braemar Petites
This is another one of those skirts that I hemmed in order to make it more...modern, shall we say. I like the intricate folds of material on the waistband, and the gold buttons give this otherwise plain skirt some much needed pizazz!

Bracelet:$0.99  Purchased from Value Village
This charm bracelet is adorable. It has a little charm that says "Quesnel, BC" on it, so I am guessing that the original owner resided in Quesnel. It also has little charms of a mailbox, cowboy, and horse. Yee-Haw!

Bag: $9.99  Purchased from Value Village
Again, I adore this bag for the reasons being: it is black and gold, it has chain straps, and it is quilted. Definitely easy to mix and match with any outfit!

Stockings: $2.00  Purchased from Yoko Ya Ya
Sister company of Daiso, Yoko Ya Ya sells a variety of items in their store...including stockings! And with nothing in the store over $3.00, I think this purchase is a good deal! It is ESPECIALLY worthwhile for dog owners like me, considering the fact that my dogs love to scratch at my legs whenever they see me, resulting in many runs in my stockings...

Shoes: $7.99  Purchased from Value Village

Autumn Leaves, Cardigans Arrive

Cardigan: $5.99  Purchased from Value Village
Label: Cleo
This grandpa-esque sweater was quite a bit larger in size when I first purchased it. But after several washes and tumbles in the clothes dryer, it now fits perfectly. I like it fitted, but also a little bit baggy and long enough to hide my behind. The pearl buttons with gold edging are super cute, and add a nice touch to an otherwise, simple sweater.

Purse: $4.99  Purchased from Value Village
This patent-black, quilted purse is one of my favorite finds from the thrift store. I love the black and gold chain strap, as well as the decorative tassel hanging off the zipper.

Tank Top: $22  Purchased from Aritzia
Label: TNA

Necklace: $19.99  Purchased from Ardene Accessories
I am currently obsessed with all Cameo jewelry. I have been searching for a nice vintage cameo ring for awhile now, but have yet to find anything I've really liked. Not to fret though, Cameo has been making a recent fashion comeback, considering the fact that Ardene even sells it now! The pendant was originally attached to an excessively over-accessorized necklace consisting of pearls, and other "cutesy" decor, so I just took off this cameo locket-pendant and attached it onto my own chain. Now if I can only find some pictures small enough to fit in there...

Shoes: $39.99  Purchased from Banana Republic
These adorable shoes were on sale, and given to me, courtesy of my boyfriend's sister. Thanks Vi!

P is for Poncho

Poncho: $5.99  Purchased from Value Village
My sister and I were shopping at Value Village a few years back when she came up to me and showed me this adorable poncho she found. I was immediately filled with envy because I wish I had seen it first! Fast-forward 3 years later though and here I am with her hand-me-down! I really enjoy this cloak because it deviates from the stereotypical appearance of a poncho. You know what I'm talking about. Those bright, multi-coloured Mexican ponchos with a small neck hole, and pictures of children embroidered all over it....  Instead, this poncho is more casual and accustomed to being thrown over any outfit.

Tank Top: $2.99  Purchased from Value Village

Scarf: $4.99  Purchased from Value Village
Believe it or not, this scarf can actually be unfolded into a HUGE wrap that engulfs your whole body! I am exaggerating a bit, but you get the idea. At times, I am known to wrap this entire thing around my head, causing me to resemble one of those old Chinese grandmas who refuse to get their hair wet when it rains. I guess practicality does override fashion every so often.

Jeans: $29.99  Purchased from Sirens
Label: Seductions
This is the first pair of skinny jeans I purchased, ever since I realized how much easier it was to tuck them into boots! Before that, I was ignorantly stuffing my flared jeans into my footwear, wasting a lot of precious time and causing a lot of discomfort from wearing the bunchy denim.

Boots: $14.99  Purchased from Value Village
I love, love, love these camel-coloured, leather and suede boots. It is not often that I see the combination of these two materials together in shoes, so imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon them in the store! I like the soft, supple look and feel of this leather. The best part of these boots is that you can fold over the top to reveal more of the suede, or unfold it to lengthen the height of the boots. The original price of these shoes were $29.99, but since I went to Value Village on one of their 50% off days, I managed to save a bit of money. Regardless, I imagine those savings will be spent at the store in some form or another!
P.S. I tried to get my dogs out of the shot, but they kept on hanging around!

I Heart Pink

Dress: $2.99  Purchased from ValueVillage
I originally found this dress in the childrens sections of Value Village, and fell in love with the vibrant colours! I had actually intended on buying the dress and reselling it on Ebay because it was so cheap. But when I tried it on, I realized that it would be a great summer staple for myself. It is lightweight, flowy, and easy to pull over a bathing suit. The best part is that it makes me look tanner than I really am! Good score!

Belt: $1.99  Purchased from Value Village
This brown, leather belt has been put to good use for many years now. I like the fact that it is simple and not too embellished. It can cinch any dress I wear and fabricate some illusion of curves!

Purse: $2.99  Purchased from Value Village
Label: Calrelli
This is a vintage clutch I bought many years ago by the name, Calrelli. It is nice to have an over-sized clutch once in awhile so you can carry more than a few credit cards and your cell phone. You can probably even fit your iPad into this baby!

Ring: $4.99  Purchased from Value Village
Made out of real silver and purple amethyst, this ring has a definite antique feel to it. The silver is matte and has intricate designing around the jewel.

Shoes: $69.95  Purchased from Zara
There are so many things I love about these shoes that I don't even know where to begin! First of all, it is my absolute favorite colour, which is corally pink. Specific, I know! It also has bows on it, and everybody knows how I love bows! Believe it or not, these shoes are also super comfortable. They have a hidden-platform on the inside, so the heels aren't really as high as they seem. All in all, I just find them so....pretty. The only downside about these shoes are the price, but I guess you have to splurge once in awhile!

Cougar Town

Boots: $39.99  Purchased from Value Village
Okay, I'll be the first to admit that $40 is pretty steep for a pair of shoes purchased from a secondhand store, but when you think about it, this price is considerably cheaper than what you would normally pay at a vintage store. I have been searching for a pair of boots like these for over two winters now, and lo and behold, I finally found them! I love the fact that these boots have a low-heel, making it very "walking friendly" on my feet. Needless to say, they will become a wardrobe staple for the upcoming chilly season!

Dress: $89.99  Purchased from Urban Outfitters
Label: Nom de Plume
This dress is so cute...yet so expensive! I actually left the store, before returning two hours later to purchase it. I like this ensemble because it has deep-set pockets and a funky cougar print...at least I think its cougar? It is a style I can dress-down with flipflops, or dress-up with heels. I better make sure to wear it 90 times to get my moneys worth!

Belt: $2.99  Purchased from Value Village
I like the combination of black and gold in this item. This belt also adds fashion appeal because it is made out of genuine snake skin, providing another layer of texture over the animal-print dress.

Necklace: $12.95  Purchased from Forever 21
This necklace is super cute and cheap. The most fitting part of this piece of jewelry is that it actually functions as a watch, so now I have no more excuses for being late all the time.

Watch: $9.99  Purchased from Value Village
I am often weary about purchasing watches from Value Village. It is like taking a gamble on whether or not the watch will actually function properly. I figure, "Who would get rid of a working watch?", right? Luckily for me though, this vintage Timex watch was alive and ticking when I found it in the store, and it was all the convincing I needed to buy it!

Vintage Value Village

Boots: $14.99 Purchased from Value Village
These pale gray, low-heeled boots are my go-to shoes whenever I want to give myself a mini boost in height. They are super comfortable and matches most anything I wear. When I wore these boots the other day, a girl came up to me and said, "I love your boots! Where did you get them from?". I replied, "I got them from Value Village". She then paused for a moment, stared at me quizzically, and asked, "Do you know if they have anymore"?
Needless to say, they answer is probably a No. Haha

Dress: $9.99  Purchased from Value Village
I love this vintage royal blue dress with printed red and white florals! When I originally tried the dress on, it was long, dowdy and below-the-knees. I debated whether it was even worth getting hemmed, or to simply leave it behind. But then I noticed that the dress had built-in pockets and I was sold. I adore dresses with pockets! The only unfortunate thing was that it cost me $24 to get the dressed hemmed at a nearby BusyBee. That is more than double the price of the dress...blah! Oh well, it is still worth it to own a one-of-a-kind dress. Unless you have one too, then I will be truly disappointed.

Socks: $2.50  Purchased from Forever 21

Belt: Free  Purchased from Forever 21
This belt was paired alongside some denim shorts I bought over the summer. I like how the bohemian print of this accessory accentuates the floral patterning of the dress, highlighting all the colours of the outfit.
